The original durability to washing tester; Durawash is a compact wet laboratory machine, designed to perform repeated garment and fabric print durability testing, as well as tests for pleat retention, waddings and quilted waddings, surface embellishments and more.
Durawash conforms to major retailer and brand test methods and procedures, simulating the conditions needed to meet retailer standard tests for garment and fabric print durability, such as M&S C15 and NEXT.
Durawash offers a condensed and accelerated wash cycle, producing effects from a single cycle (between 10-15 minutes) that are comparable to 5 standard domestic washes. Significant savings can be generated by using the Durawash, from reduced test times, to water consumption, as well as other utilities such as energy usage.

How do you check the Print Durability of Fabric?
Once the specified wash cycle is complete, the print should be checked against an un-washed sample. The assessment points that should be reported can include; degree of print/flock loss, colour change (using Grey Scale) in each print colour and any uptake of Optic Brightening Agent (OBA).
What kind of textiles and garments are tested for Durability?
Washing durability is applicable for all textiles and garments. This can be durability of a print, an embellishment/attachment or the durability of an applied performance such as pleat retention.
Is the Durawash same as Hoover-Matic Twin Tub?
The Roaches Durawash, and later Durawash PLUS, were the first specific developments to replace the Hoover-Matic twin tub. Durawash is manufactured with all the same wash bath dimensions and impellor speed, but utilising modern manufacturing techniques and semi-automation. Durawash was the first machine approved by M&S (Marks & Spencer) for testing the durability to washing of a Printed fabric.
