Message from the MD

“Having set up Advanced Dyeing Solutions Ltd in 2001 following the closure of Longclose Group Ltd, now 21 years on and the only original member. This has probably been the most challenging period since our formation, from both a personal and business viewpoint.”

“Who would ever have thought that Covid would have had such an impact on all of us in every area of our lives.  And now half way through 2022, more than 2 years after it first raised it’s ugly head, things are only just returning to ‘normal’.
The end of Covid has meant that manufacturing in almost all areas has been busy, which along with reduced global production, logistic problems and raw material supply issues, this has led to a large increase in raw materials and component costs.
Looking forward, things look challenging, but we know that with your continued support, we will do our best to minimize price increases as much as possible and work with you to continue to grow our businesses together and further develop relationships with our partners.”

Meet the team

James Deakin (Production Manager)

"I joined Roaches 6 years ago, after a year of college, to begin a 4 yearlong apprenticeship in electrical engineering. Over the years I have worked alongside my colleagues here to progress to the role of Production Manager where I oversee the day to day work load of our workshop ensuring orders are filled and standards are maintained.

I also have a small hand in aiding with the development of our machines, analysing them throughout the build process to pick up any potential improvements we could make to ensure our products are as user friendly as possible while staying true to the look and feel of a Roaches machine.

Outside of work I mainly play games on my computer or occasionally spend time with my mates in the local pubs where I live."

Meet the team

Richard Kirkbright (General Manager)

"I have been with Roaches for less than a year. I was recruited to help the company realise more of its potential. My background has been working in the IT/print management area. A variety of roles from sale to management and consulting. I have had the privilege of working for some fantastic companies and my roles have allowed me to partner with a wide range of businesses.

The insight I gained from my experiences has allowed me to identify areas of Roaches which would benefit from some attention. This will help us have a better relationship with our customers. Already Roaches have invested in me to attend Leeds University on a business management course which is helping me better communicate across the business and to form long term strategies for Roaches growth.

When I am not in work I enjoy following F1. I try and attend a race at least once a year. I am in awe of Lewis Hamilton achievements as one of the most successful drivers of all time. The rest of my time is spent with my family and friends."

Meet the team

David Buxton (Sales Director)

"I am working for Roaches International as Sales Director and have been a member of the team from July 2017. My career as always been within the textile/apparel sector but carrying out many different roles; from Dyer, Testing Technician, Testing Laboratory auditor/training, Fabric Technologist, Dye Department Manager, I was even a qualified Provisional SA8000 (CSR) auditor, and now I am equipment Sales.

This broad range of experience has provided a priceless opportunity to travel extensively around the World and live and work in three different countries, Morocco, Turkey and lastly Sri Lanka. Now back home in the UK, I live with my partner Sandra, our 11-year-old son Declan (who was born in Sri Lanka) and our dog Rosie. For relaxation, when you find some time with an 11-year-old, I enjoy reading, cooking (especially South Asia dishes) and watching sport.

I am looking forward to our continued working relationship and building Roaches International into a global power-house for Textile testing instruments and laboratory Dyeing equipment. Good luck for 2022!

David Buxton (Sales Director)
